Abigail Lukas

President

Abbie is a senior majoring in Biomedical Engineering with minors in Mechanical, Electrical, and Computer Engineering. She joined SWE to grow professionally as well as give back to the GW Engineering community which she is able to do because of being in SWE. Lastly, her favorite part of SWE is all of the opportunities she has gotten to meet and network with women engineers in the professional world, outside of GW, and from many other places.

Giavanna Corazza

Vice President

Giavanna is a senior majoring in Biomedical Engineering with a double minor in Mechanical Engineering and Political Science. The reason she joined SWE was to develop a network of fellow women in engineering driven by a desire to challenge the status quo of the multi-faceted technology industry. While being in SWE she has also gotten the opportunity to meet professionals who have provided insights in navigating male-dominated spaces. Lastly, her favorite part about SWE specifically in the past year was the Mentor Network, a virtual professional network that had conversations about topics such as negotiating salaries and work-life balance for women in the technology industry!

Outreach Chair

Anasia is a junior majoring in Biomedical Engineering and minoring in Psychology. She joined SWE to get more involved with the female community in the School of Engineering and Applied Science. Her favorite part of being in SWE is since we have all taken a lot of the same/similar classes, we can give each other studying pointers. Also, it serves as a great outlet to ask about internships, research, and even some of the best places to eat on campus
